from the President: Many thanks to Cheryl Geschke for her
beautiful talk about accessories at Soft 'nSassy in Broadview Hts., Ohio.
She spoke about trying to have USA-born yarns, such as Autumn House Farms, and
Farm House Yarns LLC that she carries in her shop. Friday evenings at Creatively Yours, in the Parmatown
Mall, you can bring your projects and enjoy the company of other crafters
and see a movie too. Friday evenings

scheduled for Sept. 10 through Sept. 25. Get updates at
yarndiscoverytour.com . Book Review: Crazy Lace: An Artistic Approach to Creative
Lace Knitting, by Myra Wood is $24.95, Woodworks Editions, 100 pages, written in
the May issue of Creative Knitting - The first thing that grabs you about the book
is the cover- a brightly colorful lace shawl on a model. Right away you
know this isn't about your grandmother's lace. Indeed, you've never seen lace
like Myra Wood's unique approach which combines the basic concepts of lace
knitting with a free-form style, clear from the strictures of how lace
"should" be done. By taking time to read the text and study the
extreme close-ups for an understanding of how lace is made and how various
shapes are formed, you'll be able to experiment with creating unique lace
designs all your own. This book is for knitters of all levels. If
you've always loved the look of lace knitting, but have been afraid to try it,
"Crazy Lace" may be just the thing to get you started. It's not
so crazy after all. (This book is by Myra Wood, the teacher who was at
Buffalo for the Yarn Convention last year.) More book news: The Fall issue of
"Cast On" will be a celebration of the 25 years of TKGA, so look for
it at your local newstand soon if you are not on subscription. News Tidbits - The Latest Research on Yarn The Craft Yarn Council of America recently
