Nehrenz (216) 941-8714, kathyiscrafty@sbcglobal.net Our Guild is chapter #187 of The Knitting Guild
Association. Members are
encouraged, but not required, to join. The dues for TKGA are $30.00
a year, $54.00 for two years, and include a years’ subscription to Cast-On
Magazine, and mailings about National and Regional meetings; and they offer a master
knitter program for hand and machine knitters. If you are interested contact the TKGA at www.TKGA.com
or call 1-740-452-4541. Knit-bits
from the President: I hope
everyone liked last month’s program and that you are all hard at work on your
cowls. Do not despair if you are
not done. This month’s program
will be a continuation of last month’s program.
So if you need help or have questions, you will be able to get the help
you need. For those of you, who are
done, please bring them so we can see how they came out. Next
month’s program will be on Horizontal Button Bands and will be presented by
Jean Nicholls. For this program,
you are asked to make a 4” X 4” (approx.) swatch in stockinette stitch using
worsted weight yarn and appropriate needles for the yarn.
The swatch should have no special edge stitches, just straight
stockinette stitch. You will need to bring to the meeting a needle 2 sizes smaller
than what you used to make the swatch. The
information has been sent out for Knitter’s Fantasy. I have received mine (about the 4th).
It will be Saturday, April 9th at Chaney High School in
Youngstown. There are morning and
afternoon classes, as well as a couple of all day classes.
Plus there is a market and fashion show.
Included in the fee, if you sign up for classes, is a box lunch.
If you are interested in going and have not received information (pink
booklet) on it, please contact Jacquie Thomas as 330-856-2208 or jthomas55@neo.rr.com.
If you would like, you can go to just the market or you could do the
market and lunch. The market by
itself is $3 to get in. Lunch and
the market is $11. If you are going
to do lunch and the market you do need to register.
Some of our LYS will be at the market along with several other very nice
yarn shops and vendors. Knitter’s Fantasy (KF) is on Ravelry so you check KF out
there for more information. This month
for the church’s food pantry they are collecting soup.
I do not have the list yet for the next few months’s to know what they
might be collecting. When I get it, I will let you know what the items are.
I am sure paper products are always good. Newsletter: Please email Meredith
Dreshar with any information that you would like included in the
newsletter. The deadline to get news into the next Guild
newsletter is April 15, 2011. If you have changed your e-mail
please let Meredith know. The
newsletter is posted every month on the Guild’s web site, along with past
issues of the newsletter. Lee
Ann Shollenberger is our WEB Master.

spinners, and dyers, to find out about different yarns, patterns, tools, etc.
And best of all IT’S FREE! EVENTS: For those
of you might be interested, there should be information appearing soon on the
Knitter’s Connection (KC) website – www.knittersconnection.com.
The Knitter’s Connection will be June 15 – 19 at the Columbus
Convention Center. For those of you
who have not gone, it is a very nice gathering.
The classes are very good with many known instructors.
The market maybe small but you can still do some damage there.
They are trying to have some unique and different things.
Items you may not be able to get at your LYS.
The other nice feature about KC is that it is close.
If you are a member, you will receive notification via e-mail and will be
able to register for classes early. There
is no membership this year, and only students will receive goodie bags. A
