Crooked River Knitting Guild Newsletter

May 2010

Regular meetings are the 4th Tuesday of every month except December.  Meetings begin at 7:00 pm.  Knitters of every skill and level are welcome, as well as those who would like to learn.  

 

Please note that meetings will no longer be held at the Renaissance!!  Meetings are held at the North Olmsted United Methodist Church on Dover Center Road, near Lorain Road, N. Olmsted, OH.  (Look for the large green water tower).  There is plenty of parking in the back.  We are in Rooms 6 and 7.  Please use the back (Office) door, not the side one!!

 

Next Meeting: May 25, 2010 

Program Our May Program will have a Guest Speaker, Cheryl Geschke of Soft n' Sassy, who will lead us into a program about Summer Accessories and terrific yarn to aid in this endeavor.  Please try to make her welcome again.

 

 

MEMBERSHIP:

At meetings, please remember to sign in and take a raffle ticket for the monthly drawing.  There is a separate sign in sheet for visitors.  Please make sure any guests sign in as well.

 

Remember that for each new paid member that you bring in you will receive a Five Dollar Panera Bread gift card.  Get several members and lunch could be on the Guild!

Our Guild is chapter #187 of The Knitting Guild Association.  Members are encouraged, but not required, to join. The dues for TKGA are $30.00 a year, $54.00 for two years, and include a years’ subscription to Cast-On Magazine, and mailings about National and Regional meetings; and they offer a master knitter program for hand and machine knitters.   If you are interested contact the TKGA at www.TKGA.com or call 1-740-452-4541.

Stitch 'n Pitch, Cleveland is scheduled for Monday, May 24, 2010 at 7:05 PM.  Proceeds benefit the Cleveland Domestic Violence Center for abused women and children.

Bring a knitted or crocheted square and have a chance to win great prizes.  Tickets are $15.00 again this year and can be reserved at local yarn shop.  Cleveland plays the Chicago White Sox, so we have to return the favor of winning at home.  Register early and have a chance to throw out the first pitch!
